One Starfish at a Time

You all know the story of the little boy walking the beach at low tide. For as far as the eye can see along the beach, near the high tide mark is an uncountable number of stranded starfish on the sand. As he is whistling to himself, he picks up a starfish and slings it into the water. Then another, and then another. A man comes over and asks him what he's doing. "I'm throwing these stranded starfish back in the water so they'll live." The man sardonically retorted, "Kid, there's millions of them. You'll never make a difference." The boy thought for a moment, then picked up and slung another one into the water and confidently said "I just made a difference to THAT one!"

Within the context of that little story, please pause, look at and consider carefully this next photo. This woman came in today exhausted, and found a bite to eat and a safe place to finally get some rest. This little church and YOU made a difference to THIS one. She is fed and was still unconscious-sleeping when I left.

This is one tiiiiired mommy. She takes great solice in the words of 2 Corinthians 4:7-10, as I am confident many Ukrainians will: "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair;9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;10 [ ] so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies." It all points to Him, folks, and it does so one life at a time.
